Family Tree Hemp Co. is our labor of love. Our uniqueness comes from our all-natural approach, regional flavor, our history, practices and our land.
We Love What We Do
From Start to Finish : Our Process
Stage 1 :: Phenotype Hunt
Family Tree Hemp Co. carefully selects mother plants for each variety based on the most desirable attributes of that genetic. We plant clones of this female phenotype for consistency and to prevent pollen from male plants.
Stage 2 :: No Till Farming
Family Tree Farm land is certified organic. Our methods are regenerative, no-till, and science-driven. We use only certified organic inputs and IPM/biodynamic practices to protect our crops. We grow craft hemp indoors in a sterile environment to offer high-quality, fresh products all year.
Stage 3 :: Harvest
Curing is a slow delicate process that takes us weeks and requires sustained care. We do a slow stem cure to develop tasty buds. The extra care to maintain proper humidity and temperature for the buds flavor and moisture levels helps us to turn potentially harsh buds into smooth and delicious smoke. We separate the craft tops and shoulders as smokables from the smaller buds we use for processing.
Stage 4 :: Our Extraction Method
We use only gentle heat and pressure to extract our premium craft CBD and THC concentrates. They’re free of all solvents!
The most common method of extraction utilizes hydrocarbons (CO2, butane or propane) as a solvent to separate plant oil from other plant matter.
There are no chemicals used in solventless extraction. This produces cleaner, higher-quality concentrate. The cannabinoids, flavonoids, phytonutrients and other beneficial compounds included in our concentrates are proven to increase the benefits of each mg of CBD or THC.
Stage 5 :: Our House Blend
2. * Our House Blend
We carefully choose cultivars for a proprietary blend of uniquely concentrated rosin that we call our House Blend. Our House Blend (of select flower and sift rosins) is the basis of our entire product line. We have one for THC and a separate blend for CBD. Both consistently premium blends are full of cannabinoids and offer unique and diverse terpene profiles that maximize the effectiveness of each mg of CBD or THC.
.
Stage 6 :: Our Packaging
We carefully select all food grade packaging, that is recyclable, with child safety measures for ingestible products.
We base all packaging on Vermont CCB guidelines and environmental resiliency.
Our Farm + Our Story
Ben’s parents settled in Vermont from Brooklyn in the 1960s, seeking a quieter life. They built their home here, now Family Tree. Ben grew up on the farm and learned about commercial growing.
Jane and Ben are life partners and best friends. They spent their early days together producing yoga events and music festivals on this property. They married on the front lawn and shared homebirth here. A few years later Family Tree Hemp Company was born on the land too… the story is still being written.

Our Team
Who We Are and What We Believe
Family Tree is vertically integrated so that we can manage all aspects of our operation.
We carefully harvest, dry, stem cure, mechanically extract, and process our material in-house. All of our production batches are uniquely ID’d to allow complete traceability of raw material to finished good.
